“Let’s Dance” star Ekaterina Leonova emotional: “I was about to give up”

In “Let’s Dance” Ekaterina Leonova (35) is known almost exclusively with a smile on her face. Now, however, the dancer has revealed on her Instagram channel that she has had tough times. In one post she writes: “A year ago my life was completely messed up. I didn’t know where, when and why. I was about to give up.”

Fortunately, things look different today, as the post goes on to say: “And yesterday I stood on a beautiful terrace in Munich, enjoyed the evening rays of sunshine and was amazed at how incredibly and quickly life can change. Never give up, never die Lose hope and enjoy every moment.”

“Let’s Dance” star Ekaterina Leonova threatened with deportation

About a year ago, Leonova’s employment contract in the online editorial office of RTL expired and was not renewed. However, a job is a condition for the native Russian’s temporary residence permit to be extended. The 35-year-old has now found a new job in Munich and is employed in the marketing communications team at Sym.

Luckily – after all, the popular professional dancer was able to take part in “Let’s Dance” 2022 and made it to the semifinals of the show with her dance partner Bastian Bielendorfer. Between 2017 and 2019, Leonova even won the RTL show three times in a row.
