Lisa Marie Presley († 54) was publicly buried on Sunday. Her funeral at the Graceland family estate in the US state of Tennessee revealed a family secret that had previously been well kept from the public: Lisa Marie Presley was already a grandmother.
Her daughter Riley Keough (33) had given her a granddaughter. The grandchild’s secret was revealed in Keough’s suicide note, which her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, read aloud at the graveside. Including her words: “Thank you for showing me that love is the only thing that counts in life. I hope I can love my daughter the same way you loved me. And how you loved my brother and sisters.”
No details known about Riley Keough’s daughter
Keough married Smith-Petersen in 2015. The couple gave no further information about when their daughter was born or what her name is. However, a spokesman for Keough confirmed to People magazine that the model is actually the mother of a daughter. Riley Keough had never posted a photo of her pregnancy or even her child on Instagram.
Fans and loved ones paid their last respects to singer Lisa Marie Presley. Hundreds of mourners gathered at the funeral on Sunday (local time) for a public memorial service, including Lisa Marie’s mother Priscilla Presley (77), numerous prominent artists such as singer Alanis Morisette (48), Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose (60 ) and Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan (55).

Lisa Marie Presley went into cardiac arrest
According to media reports, Presley suffered cardiac arrest almost two weeks ago. Just two days earlier, the singer and her mother attended the Golden Globes Gala, where Austin Butler (31) was awarded for portraying her father in the film “Elvis”.
Lisa Marie was the only child of Elvis Presley (1935-1977) and released three albums herself as a singer. In the past, she also made headlines with a year-and-a-half marriage to pop icon Michael Jackson (1958-2009) and a marriage of just three months to US actor Nicolas Cage (59). (cth/AFP)
