The mystery surrounding his death
In 1973, poet Norman Rosten recounted his memories in a book featuring the actress from Seven years of reflection in a new light, both intimate and comical. Marilyn – Shadow and light (published by Seghers) is reissued on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the death of the most iconic actress of the 20th century. Moreover, 60 years later, the tragic disappearance of Marilyn Monroe still raises so many questions. Indeed, the body of the American icon, who was only 36 years old, had been rwas found dead on the night of August 4 to 5, 1962, at his home, located in Brentwood, Los Angeles. The actress was then in her bed, naked and glued to her phone. According to the medical examiner, she would have been poisoned with barbiturates and so it was a “probable suicide”. But this version did not convince and many people spoke of a conspiracy against the star.
