Maybrit Illner is out again: Marietta Slomka takes over ZDF Talk

For the second time in a row, Maybrit Illner cannot lead through her political talk of the same name. This time Marietta Slomka will step in as a substitute.

the essentials in brief

  • Maybrit Illner is still struggling with corona symptoms.
  • That’s why Marietta Slomka will moderate the ZDF program of the same name on March 24th.
  • In the show they will talk about «War in Ukraine – is the West doing enough?» to discuss.

Even with the “maybrit illner” edition of March 24 (10:15 p.m., ZDF), the eponymous journalist and TV presenter will not be able to lead through the talk. As announced via the official Twitter account for the show, it is still canceled due to its corona disease. There it says: “Maybrit Illner is doing better, but unfortunately she is still positive.”

Colleague and “heute journal” moderator Marietta Slomka (52) will therefore step in at short notice, as it is also said. Together with the guests, she debates the topic “War in Ukraine – is the West doing enough?”.

Norbert Röttgen (CDU, 56), Katarina Barley (SPD, 53) and Selenskyj advisor Alexander Rodnyansky (60) are there. Lawyer Constanze Stelzenmüller (60) and security expert Florence Gaub (45) are also involved in the discussion.

Illner had also failed the previous week. ZDF capital studio manager Theo Koll (64) took over for them.
