During the Miss France 2022 election, Saturday, December 11, several former Miss France unveiled their crowns that they all kept after their reign. All except Flora Coquerel… Explanations.
You may not know it but Miss France crowns are custom made every year by jewelers. And, even after their year of reign, beauty queens can keep their precious jewel, as well as their scarf which are unique since they indicate the year of the election. Memories that they keep preciously… or not. Saturday December 11, a few minutes from the crowning of Miss France 2022, which succeeds Amandine Petit, Miss France 2021, several former misses presented their crowns.
Clémence Botino proudly displayed “Ruby Red” (it is the name of her tiara) while Linda Hardy confided that she did not fit in her crown which suited her perfectly when she was elected in 1992. Marine Lorphelin has believed that she would never see “Flower of Spring Time” again. “I had the bad luck and the bad surprise to have the box stolen from me [qui contenait sa couronne et son écharpe, ndlr] in a hotel”, she confided. And to add: “The police contacted me and they found the crown and scarf in a trash can.“
Flora Coquerel has two scarves … but no crown
Flora Coquerel, she prided herself on having not one but two scarves. “I was lucky to have two scarves because we did a little test my year with a slightly thinner scarf to wear on evening dresses with two small cords at the back”, she explained, before specifying: “Well, it turns out that it wasn’t a big success because she would end up slipping so the ropes would come in front.” She has two scarves but she doesn’t have a crown … “I admit that I broke it“, she confided. Queen of beauty … and awkwardness!
