Mockery for Harry: Prince steals interview statement from Martin Luther King

In an interview with the American television show “60 Minutes”, Prince Harry loosely quoted the human rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. – and is now being ridiculed and criticized for it.

Prince Harry quotes Martin Luther King

In a trailer for the interview, which is scheduled to air on Sunday, the British prince talks about the tense relationship with the royal family. In it, Prince Harry says, “There comes a point when silence is betrayal.” Martin Luther King Jr. once used very similar words in a speech: “There comes a time when silence is betrayal”.

What looks like a rhetorical quote is exaggerated into plagiarism in relevant forums such as Reddit or Twitter. Even more: Harry is not accused, but his wife Meghan.

Critics rail against Duchess Meghan

“This is proof that control freak Meghan scripted his answers and prepared him for the interview,” rumbles a user on Reddit. On Twitter, a user reveals Meghan’s actual plan: “Please keep giving these out of control interviews, they’re perfect for Meghan if she’s going to divorce you.” Other users complained on Instagram that Harry would stylize himself as a victim of racism in his family debacle. A family quarrel cannot be compared to apartheid.

Memoir “Spare”: what is known about it

The publication of Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare” is imminent. The controversial interview was recorded in advance and is intended to bring additional attention to his book.

In it, Harry processes his tense and distant relationship with the royal family, the roots of which lie in Harry’s childhood. Brother Prince William is also talked about in the biography, who is said to have even become violent in a dispute with Harry.
