This May 6, Sylvie Vartan paid a beautiful tribute to her friend Régine, who died last Sunday at the age of 92. “In Paris, New York or Rio, finding Régine was always a PARTY. What good times shared. I will keep her flamboyant personality, her unique voice, her enthusiasm, her generosity, and her sincerity. Above all, she was a woman of heart. She was my friend, rest in peace,” she wrote in her Instagram post. To accompany her words, the 77-year-old singer shared a snapshot of her, her hand on Régine’s cheek. A friendship that lasted for many years.
Nicknamed “the black queen of our sleepless nights” by Françoise Sagan, Régina Zylberberg – alias Régine – was a singer, actress and accomplished businesswoman. A true icon of the 1960s, she owned twenty-two nightclubs that bore her first name around the world. His funeral will take place on May 9 in Paris and the ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the crematorium of the Père-Lachaise cemetery, Salle de la Coupole.
