The National Symphony Orchestra will present its first Spring 2022 Concert Season, in the La Restauración room of the Gran Teatro del Cibao, in Santiago de los Caballeros, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the General Directorate of Fine Arts and the Symphony Foundation.
This season It constitutes a milestone in the history of classical music in our country and the Cibao society. In this way, the long-awaited dream of the first and most important musical institution in our country, the National Symphony Orchestra, led by its principal conductor, maestro José Antonio Molina, of scheduling concerts in that iconic hall, will come true.
The presentations will include the participation of directors and soloists of world importance. The inaugural gala, which will be directed by maestro Santy Rodríguez, assistant director of the OSN, will be held on Wednesday, June 15, with a program that will include the winner of the José Reyes 2021 Annual Music Award: “Concertino for clarinet and orchestra” of young composer Joel Diaz, performed by the clarinetist Darleny González.
The program will be completed by Symphony No. 9 “New World”, by Antonín Dvorák. The closing gala will be on Wednesday, June 29 under the baton of maestro Molina, with his work “Fantasía Merengue”, and with the “Concerto for violin and orchestra”by Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky, performed by the Dominican violinist Aisha Syed.
