“My job is based on generosity, I have a lot of trouble with stinginess”


The 25-year-old DJ star is releasing his second album, Azure Club, before chaining the festivals this summer.

Madame Figaro.- If you had to describe Club Azure in three sentences?
Kungs.- It’s a party album, which aims to make people dance. My favorite track? lullabya very personal title.

The collaboration of your dreams?
On this album, I was very happy to work with Martin Solveig, my mentor and one of the popes of the French touch. Now I dream of collaborating with Frank Ocean, who is as rare as he is talented.

What is your main character trait?
Impatience. I set a lot of goals for myself and when I achieve one I quickly want to explore other things.

Which one are you least proud of?
I am eternally dissatisfied.

The one you hate in others?
My job is based on generosity, I have a lot of trouble with stinginess.

Your anti-stress tips?
A tennis match and bodybuilding, even if it doesn’t show much…

Cycling, local and seasonal consumption.

Your currency ?
“A falling tree makes more noise than a growing forest.” This sentence helped me put the negative comments I read on the Internet into perspective.

On a desert island, what would you take?
My girlfriend (the model Ivanka Smilenko, Editor’s note).

The cast of an ideal dinner at your place?
Cyril Lignac and Barack Obama.

Music in your life?
Inspector Norse, by Todd Terje. This track, both melancholic and hyper-danceable, remains my all-time favorite.

A meeting that marked you?
The one with music producer Boys Noize. A humble and kind man, who proves that one can succeed without being a bad guy.

Live from my passion, live in Paris and take full advantage of my life as an artist.

Toulon, where I come from. The sweetness of life in this city inspires positive music in me.

The smell of fresh basil that my mother put in all the salads in the summer.

What if you hadn’t been a DJ?
I would still have done this job, but with less success.
