CDMX.- Netflix uncovered the statistics of what its subscribers saw the most during this 2022; the series, as well as special programs were the top of their year.
1.- Netflix is the most watched streaming platform — With more shows in the Nielsen Top 10 than all other streamers combined, we had the #1 original series for 46 of the 48 weeks to date, occupying almost half of the #1 streaming weekly movie count.
2.- Five of his Top 10 most popular English-language series of all time premiered this year: Stranger Things 4, Merlina and Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (surpassing all one billion hours watched), the second season from Bridgerton and Inventing Anna.
3.- Three of his Top 10 most popular English-language films of all time were released this year: The Adam Project, The Gray Man and Wounded Hearts. We also released Monster From the Sea, our most successful animated children’s film, and our most successful documentary film, The Tinder Hustler.

4.- Six of our Top 10 most popular foreign-language films of all time were released this year: Troll (Norway), All Quiet Front (Germany), Black Crab (Sweden), Through My Window ( Spain), Incompatibles 2 (France), Adult love (Denmark) and My name is Vengeance (Italy).
5.-Fan favorites are back: Members spent more time watching new seasons and sequels on Netflix in 2022 than before, including new seasons like Stranger Things 4, Elite season six, The Crown season five, Season two of Bridgerton, The Umbrella Academy Season 3, Young Highnesses Season 2, Big Mouth Season 6, Cobra Kai Season 5, Ozark Season 4, Tuning Season 3, Selling Sunset Season 5, Love Is Blind Season 3 and the sequels Enola Holmes 2, Stray Bullet 2, and two 365 Days sequels.
6.- The Korean wave (also known as Wave K) is bigger than ever! 60% of its members watched a Korean title and Netflix had 6 of the Top 10 Most Searched K-Dramas in Korea, including Lawyer Extraordinaire Woo, Narco Santos, We Are Dead, Job Proposal, Our Blue Horizon, and Twenty-Five, Twenty-One.
Woo, Lawyer Extraordinaire and We Are Dead became two of our most popular foreign-language shows of all time.
7.- The Netflix effect pushed songs from the 80s to the top of the charts. “Running Up That Hill” was the #6 most searched song, Kate Bush was the #7 most searched artist, and the #10 trending song on TikTok in 2022. Merlina brought back not one, but two hits: “Goo Goo Muck.” ” by The Cramps and “Bloody Mary” by Lady Gaga. #MerlinaAddams has been used more than 19 billion times on TikTok in less than a month, with even Lady Gaga herself joining the viral trend.
8.- Red berets were all the rage: thanks to Emily’s fans in Paris, the kids in Matilda, and even Fingers.
Netflix members watched an average of six different genres per month, from the historical drama on The Empress, the sports drama with Adam Sandler on Claw, and the romantic drama on the fourth season of A Dreaming Place and the thriller Pálpito.
