The new Rammstein album “Zeit” leads the German charts with a special record. The band sold more than 160,000 records in one week, according to GfK Entertainment.

This is not only the strongest album start in the German charts since the release of ABBA’s “Voyage” last November. At the same time, it is also the best debut of a German act or a rock act since the previous album “Rammstein”, which was released around three years ago.

Is Rammstein’s time almost up?

There is currently speculation about the end of Rammstein. Formed in 1994, the band is known for its scandals. “Time”, on the other hand, revolves around themes such as the end and farewell. The title song of the same name says: “When our time has come, it’s time to go. Stop when it’s most beautiful. The clocks stop.” The big Rammstein tour starts in May and ends in Mexico City in October. How the band will continue after that is not known at the moment.

While Till Lindemann and his bandmates secure the throne of the album charts, another German cult band, Die Ärzte (“Die Beast in Menschengestalt”), ranks second. Rapper Reezy grabs third place with “Loyalty Over Love”, “The Berlin Concert” by John Williams with the Berlin Philharmonic is in fourth place and Danger Dan completes the top five with “Das ist alles von der Kunstfreiheit covered”.

Luciano leads the singles charts

Meanwhile, rapper Luciano debuted at number one in the singles chart with “Beautiful Girl.” He pushed T-Low and Miksu/Macloud to second and third place (“We Made It” and “Sehnsucht”). Harry Styles slips to fourth place with “As It Was” and Jack Harlow to fifth with “First Class.”
