“Ojos del Corazón”, a play for the blind in Ecuador

“Ojos del Corazón” is a play by blind people for sighted people who will have a preview function next Thursday in Ecuadora source from the Ministry of Culture and Heritage of the Andean country informed EFE this Sunday.

The nine members who participate in the assembly and belong to the Luis Braille Association, Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES) and Mena 2, worked for five months, under the artistic direction of Susana Vargas, Lourdes Chiriboga and Hernán Gaibor who has worked on the dramaturgy of this proposal.

The work “Eyes of the heart” It has been built on improvisations by the cast around situations of daily life, with the motivation of showing their desires and experiences to society, demonstrating to the public that, despite being blind, they can do theater and many other things, indicated the Ministry.

“Their progression on stage has been methodical, based on their acting work on the sensation of hearing: they are oriented by the clock, the sound of footsteps,” he notes.

The Ministry of Culture and Heritage congratulated the talent and strength of the artists who highlight the benefits of art in all social processes, particularly in health.

The work will premiere at 11:00 local time (16:00 GMT) on December 29 at the Metropolitan Cultural Center, located in the Historic Center of Quito, listed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
