One of Mandela’s granddaughters accuses Harry and Meghan of using her name to make money

Ndileka Mandela, one of the South African leader’s granddaughters regrets that Meghan and Harry claim to be the famous South African leader, in their Netflix documentary live to lead.

Harry and Meghan do not only have enemies within the royal family. The couple managed to alienate the Mandela family. Ndileka Mandela, one of Nelson Mandela’s granddaughters was thus annoyed in The Australianfrom the fact that the couple use in their Netflix documentary live to lead (Lives to lead, leaders at heartin frenchs) his grandfather’s name.

“It was inspired by Nelson Mandela, who said ‘what matters in life is not the simple fact of having lived, it is the difference that we have made in the lives of others’, launches thus Prince Harry in a serious tone, in the trailer for the documentary.

“Make Millions”

“I don’t believe he and Meghan ever met my grandfather, maybe when Harry was young at Buckingham Palace, but they use his quotes in the documentary to draw people in and make millions without the Mandela family benefits from it”, points out Ndileka Mandela.

She is also annoyed that the couple compares their own battles to leave the royal family, with that of Nelson Mandela.

“There is no possible comparison”, swept away Mandela’s granddaughter. “I know the Nelson Mandela Foundation supported the initiative, but people have been stealing grandfather’s quotes for years and using his legacy because they know his name sells – Harry and Meghan are not different from them

“It’s always boring”

If she claims to have “made peace with the people who use the name of [son] grandfather”, Ndileka Mandela, believes that “it is always deeply upsetting and boring every time it happens”.

This seven-part documentary series is part of the Sussexes’ juicy $100 million deal with Netflix. Other personalities are cited there such as the judge of the American Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg or Greta Thunberg. But also New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who ignored her and discovered that she was one of them.

The couple also produced a documentary about the Invictus Games. And Netflix aired the documentary series in early December Harry & Meghan, which the couple did not produce, but which tells their story, from their meeting to their departure for California. A documentary that caused a strong reaction in the United Kingdom, and above all had the effect of strengthening public sympathy for William and Kate.
