We are already a few days away from the next edition of the oscars 2022 organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and here we leave you everything you need to know before to be able to enjoy this event and not miss any detail.

What day is the Oscars 2022?

The ceremony will be this Sunday, March 22 at the Dolby Theater in the city of Los Angeles, California and is expected to start at 6:00 p.m. CDMX time.

The celebrities who will be up front presenting are Regina Hall who participated in the movie Scary Movie 2, amy schumerprotagonist in the film Sexy by accident and Wanda Sykes who made his appearance in the movie A mother-in-law of care. The three will be for the first time as hostesses of the ceremony.

The options to be able to see the transmission in Mexico will be in the TNT channel with commentators Ileana Rodríguez and Rafa Sarmiento and the coverage will be from one hour before to show the arrival of all the guests.

On the other hand, on open television you can see it through the Azteca Siete channel where they will start at 5:00 p.m. also to present the nominees and special guests. Among the most notable will be John Travolta, Mila Kunis, Lady Gaga, Anthrony Hopkings, Uma Thorman, Shawn Mendes, among others.

Which artists will sing?

Within the ceremony, like every year, special shows where great artists prepare a musical number and this year is no exception as the characters nominated for Best Song they usually perform their song live and the Academy announced who they will be:

  • No Time to Die (No Time to Die) – performed by Billie Eilish and Finneas
  • Somehow You Do (Four Good Days) – played by Reba McEntire
  • Be Alive (King Richard) – played by Beyonce
  • two caterpillars (Charm) – performed by Sebastián Yatra

These are the main nominees

The film with the most nominations is The Power of the Dog with 12 nominations in 11 categories including best picture, director, actor, supporting actress and supporting actor.

Second is found dunes nominated in 10 categories including best sound, costumes and visual effects.

They finally meet Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast and the remake Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story with seven nominations each.
