When the Oscars are awarded on March 27, there should also be a serious moment at the otherwise happy event: the three presenters of the evening, Wanda Sykes (58), Amy Schumer (40) and Regina Hall (51), want discuss the war in Ukraine.
“I suggested the idea of adding Selenski via video,” reveals Schumer on the “Drew Barry Show”. There is also a connection to the industry: the Ukrainian President was even known as a comedian and actor before he took office. Amy Schumer would like to push through this idea, although according to her there is a lot of pressure from outside to make the show cheerful and not to remind of the crisis situation.
Schwarzenegger also spoke up
Another US star has already acted and made millions of people aware of the war in Ukraine. Arnold Schwarzeneggers (74) published a nine-minute speech on Twitter: “I speak to you today because things are happening in the world that are kept away from you, terrible things that you should know about.”
Schwarzenegger regards the current situation as a “humanitarian crisis” and appeals to the Russian people: “I ask the Russians and Russian soldiers in Ukraine to recognize the propaganda and false information that you are being told.” Then he turns directly to President Putin (69): “You started this war, you are fighting this war, you can end this war.” (cog)
