All good things come to an end and that of Peaky Blinders has arrived. Broadcast on Netflix since June 10, the episodes of the sixth and final season conclude the series directed by Steven Knight in style. Cillian Murphy once again embodies the famous character of Tommy Shelby alongside Paul Anderson and Finn Cole. But if Peaky Blinders is coming to an end, it is fortunately not a final farewell that fans of the series will have to make to the characters. They will indeed have the opportunity to see the actors of the series one last time in a feature film again directed by Steven Knight.
Cillian Murphy, who will obviously be there, spoke about the project in an interview with Deadline. But the suspense remains at its height and the actor does not yet know all the details of the spin-off. After even admitting to knowing nothing about the upcoming film, Cillian Murphy said, “I’d be as excited as anyone to read a script. But I think it’s good for everyone to take a little break. It’s always a healthy thing and then we can regroup”. He added that he was ready for his role and said: “Steve is an incredibly busy and in-demand writer, but I know he loves writing Peaky above all else. He adores her. So I think when the time comes, if there are more stories to tell, I will be there.”
Steven Knight had already mentioned the spin-off of Peaky Blinders with Esquire while maintaining the mystery: “In series six, we bring in the next generation, and they are going to be part of what is happening in [le] film. I think it’s about finding those actors that you look at that make you think, that’s it. This is the future. The film, I know exactly what it is. And I know what two stories he’s going to tell. How the story will unfold, I don’t know. What happens next, I want it to depend on the movie.”
