A cycle of at least 7 years for the PlayStation 5 would therefore be considered and would roughly correspond to that of the previous consoles: the PS1 being released in 1994, the PS2 in 2000, the PS3 in 2006, the PS4 in 2013 and the PS5 in 2020. Of course, the pandemic and component shortages having led to significant production and delivery delays, the lifespan of Sony’s latest console could be longer.
