- However, the weather did not cooperate.
- The Queen was not present for the celebration.
Prince Charles and his wife Duchess Camilla invited to Buckingham Palace in London on Wednesday (May 11). A traditional garden party was held there for the first time since 2019, making it the first of the season. Princess Anne was also present at the appointment.
Undeterred by the rainy weather, the British royals took out umbrellas to greet the guests in a cheerful mood, according to several photos of the event on Charles and Camilla’s official Instagram page. The 73-year-old showed up elegantly in tails and top hat for the appointment, his wife brought color into play with her cornflower blue coat dress and hat.

Queen Elizabeth II is not coming to the celebrations
The parties, with two more planned for 18th and 25th May in London and 29th June at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, come in the year of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and are a tribute to guests’ dedication. Queen Elizabeth II herself will not take part in the events. This was announced by Buckingham Palace in early May.
The Queen will be represented by other members of the royal family at the traditional events, which are back for the first time since 2019 after being canceled for the past two years due to the pandemic.
