Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla celebrate their first garden party in the rain

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla are hosting the first garden party of the year. They didn’t let the rainy weather stop them.

the essentials in brief

  • Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla received guests at a garden party.
  • This took place for the first time since 2019 after the pandemic.
  • Queen Elizabeth II did not attend the festival in the rain.

Prince Charles (73) and his wife Duchess Camilla (74) invited to Buckingham Palace in London on Wednesday (May 11). A traditional garden party was held there for the first time since 2019, making it the first of the season. Princess Anne (71) was also present at the appointment.

The members of the British Royals were not impressed by the rainy weather. They pulled out umbrellas to greet the guests in a good mood. This is shown by several photos of the event on Prince Charles and Camilla’s official Instagram page.

The 73-year-old showed up elegantly in tails and top hat for the appointment. His wife added color with her cornflower blue coat dress and hat.

Queen stays away from garden parties

Two more parties are planned for May 18th and 25th in London and June 29th at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh.

This time, in the year of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, they are a tribute to guests’ dedication. Queen Elizabeth II (96) herself will not take part in the events.

This was announced by Buckingham Palace in early May. The Queen will be represented by other members of the Royal Family at the traditional events. These will take place regularly for the first time since 2019. In the last two years they had been canceled because of the pandemic.
