Prince Harry opens up about secret meetings with the Queen

Apparently there is an invitation to celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the throne.

London. According to her grandson Prince Harry, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II is in top form shortly before her 96th birthday. The 37-year-old told the US broadcaster NBC after a previously unannounced meeting between him, his wife Duchess Meghan (40) and his grandmother in Windsor before the couple traveled to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.

“I was with her, it was great, so nice to see her,” said Harry. But he also wanted to make sure the Queen was “protected and had the right people around her,” Harry added. The two had tea together with Meghan: “So it was really nice to see her again,” said Prince Harry to Hoda Kotb in a preview of the “Today” show. As always, he made his grandmother laugh. Recently, there had been concerns about the health of the British Queen after repeatedly canceling appointments.

The flying visit to Windsor last Thursday came as a surprise after Harry had missed the memorial service for his grandfather Prince Philip, who died a year ago, a few weeks ago. Harry and Meghan left the royal family two years ago and now live with their children Archie (2) and Lilibet (10 months) in Santa Barbara, California. He feels at home there now too, said Harry. The relationship with his father Prince Charles (73) and his brother Prince William (39) is tense.

Queen’s birthday is this Thursday

The Queen’s birthday is this Thursday. Traditionally, the big celebrations don’t take place until June with the “Trooping the Color” parade in the heart of London. This year also coincides with the Queen’s 70th Jubilee celebrations. It was initially unclear whether Harry and Meghan wanted to travel there. According to one report, they are said to have received an invitation. However, Harry is also currently at odds with the UK Home Office because he and his family are now being denied police protection in the UK.

The Invictus Games, a sports competition for soldiers injured in action, is considered a project close to Prince Harry’s heart. This year they will take place in The Hague in the Netherlands, next year Düsseldorf will be the venue.
