Princess Anne steals the show from her brother Charles

While this isn’t Anne’s first appearance in the outfit – she was spotted in the look at Duchess Kate and Prince William’s wedding in 2011 – that didn’t stop her from shining as a hostess. She looks “stunningly happy”, for example, an observer writes appreciatively on Twitter and shares pictures of the 71-year-old Queen’s daughter. And another notes: “She looks radiantly beautiful on this rainy day.”

The garden party for The Not Forgotten Association, which supports injured veterans and wounded soldiers, was first held in 1921. Queen Elizabeth II did not attend this year and was represented by Princess Anne, who is the patron of the veterans’ organisation.

More parties on May 18th and 25th in London

A garden party was held at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. In addition to Princess Anne, her brother Prince Charles and his wife Duchess Camilla were also present. The parties – two more are planned for 18th and 25th May in London and 29th June at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh – this time in the year of the Queen’s platinum jubilee and a tribute to guests’ dedication.

At the beginning of May it was announced that the Queen would not be present at the events this year. In the past two years, the garden parties had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic.
