Princess Charlène is the spitting image of her mother – but how close is their relationship?

Lynette Wittstock: Charlène’s beautiful mother

The former professional swimmer was born as the daughter of Michael and Lynette Wittstock in Bulawayo, Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. Her father has his own business while her mother worked as a swimming instructor in the past. From 1990 Albert’s wife grew up with her two younger brothers, Gareth and Sean, in a town east of Johannesburg, South Africa.

The family of the Monegasque princess largely stays away from the public. However, who has always caused a stir in the past is Charlène’s mother, from whom Albert’s wife not only inherited her middle name Lynette, but also her appearance.

How similar mother and daughter look was already noted by the tabloid press and aristocratic fans at Albert and Charlène’s wedding in 2011, when Lynette Wittstock presented herself with Charlène’s brothers on the balcony of the Prince’s Palace.
