The new RTL show with “Bergdoktor” actor Hans Sigl (53) starts in August – and can be seen four times a week. The program, which now bears the title “The incredibly smartest person in the world” and is a funny and light “mixture of quiz and talk”, will run Monday to Thursday late in the evening from 11:20 p.m., the broadcaster announced on Thursday in Cologne .
The premiere is on August 1st. After ten episodes there will be a semi-final and then a final, at the end of which it will be clear who is the “incredibly smartest” of all participants.
As RTL explained further, Sigl will be given two sidekicks as showmaster with moderator Jana Azizi and comedian Pierre M. Krause. Violinist David Garrett, astronaut Suzanna Randall, actress Katharina Wackernagel, athlete Sabrina Mockenhaupt and ex-soccer professional Rúrik Gíslason will be among the celebrities on the council chair.
Original format comes from Belgium and is very successful
The celebrities would have to solve picture puzzles, remember the past and answer questions from prominent colleagues. In addition, associative chains would have to be formed, which should serve as the basis for “an exciting, humorous talk”.
The Belgian original format “De slimste Mens ter Wereld” (in German about “The smartest person in the world”) is considered a blockbuster in its country of origin. It is also running successfully in the Netherlands. The German version is produced by the Fabiola company. Sigl is known from several television series.
