Secret revealed: That’s why the Kelly Family’s double-decker bus was in Vienna

Patricia has particularly fond memories of Christmas as a child. “That was always a big celebration for us. We all got a lot of presents. That was on Epiphany. The tree was always full of jewelry and we had a nativity scene with clay figures. As a large family that makes music together, the relationship with the Siblings are very special. 2You really notice what family means when you’re not feeling well, then family is there immediately. Then you know you won’t be left alone,” says Kathy.

Incidentally, the legendary double-decker bus was refloated to shoot the documentary (2022, RTL II). They stopped at important stages in their careers. “In general, you can say that we’ve never been seen so close. We first opened up like this because we were simply put in situations from 40 years ago. We went through a lot of emotions and memories together,” says Kathy.

A very formative station was Vienna. “That was really sweet. We saw people beaming, ‘The Kellys are in town!’ That was terrific. We came by bus to Stephansplatz and I thought to myself: how awesome is that?”
