After twelve years of romance, the singer and the ex-footballer announced their separation in early June. Six months later, the Telecinco television channel revealed how the artist understood that his former companion was unfaithful.

She would have discovered the pot of roses thanks to… jars of jam strawberry. According to the “Socialité” program of the Spanish channel Telecinco, Gerard Piqué, the ex-husband of Shakira (from 2010 to 2022), had a horror of this sweet dish. However, the singer, who announced their separation early June, reportedly had suspicions when he returned from a promotional tour. She would then have discovered, by opening her fridge, that the level of his jam jars – reviled, therefore, by the former professional sportsman – had drastically decreased.

She would then have hired a private detective to investigate this mystery. Before learning that the father of his children Milan, 9, and Sasha, 7, had an extramarital affair with a woman named Clara Chia Marti, 23, a public relations student and obviously fond of jam toast. Rumors that the entourage of Gerard Pique has always denied, although the latter was recently spotted with the young woman in Barcelona.

A meeting in 2010

“We regret to confirm that we are separating,” said Shakira and the former FC Barcelona defender in a press release published on June 4 on the website.E! News. For the sake of our children, who are our top priority, we ask you to respect our privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”

Both had met in the spring of 2010, on the set of the clip WakaWaka, official song of the Football World Cup which took place in South Africa, and had formalized their relationship on social networks, in February 2011. Twelve years of love later, the interpreter of Hips Don’t Lie seems to want to turn the page.
