Simone Ballack (46) and her ex-husband Michael Ballack (45) lost their son in August last year. Emilio († 18) had an accident on a quad trip in Portugal. Ten months after the tragic accident, Simone Ballack speaks on television for the first time about the serious loss and in an interview with the RTL star magazine “Exclusiv” tells how she deals with the deep grief.
“Of course there are days when I don’t want to get up either. I also want to stay in bed and cry, »she reveals in an exclusive conversation with moderator Frauke Ludowig (58). But she also says that now, ten months after the tragedy, she feels “relatively strong”.
She doesn’t want to fall into the hole of grief
After the death of her son, Simone Ballack withdrew from public life. Some time later she again gave insights into her life on social media and received hate mail accusing her of not mourning the death of her middle son enough. The entrepreneur resisted. The loss and the shock still run deep, Ballack says. She thinks about the moments surrounding the accident every day, but she doesn’t want to fall into a deep hole of grief. She won’t let that happen.
For the sake of her other sons, Simone wants to continue to participate in life. Louis (20) and Jordi (17) are also from the marriage to ex-national player Michael Ballack.
“You also want to lead a reasonably happy life. And as a mother, you are responsible for that,” she explains. The ex-“Celebrity Big Brother” contestant considers it a gift to have had her son in her life. When asked what would remain of her son, Simone Ballack cried: “Everything. It’s all there. The memories will always remain.” The memories of her son, as Simone Ballack describes, are also the beautiful thing for the mother: she wants to think about them. (sod/bang)
