“Squid Game” Season 2 (Netflix): Director reveals first details – “Maybe a twin sister”
The South Korean Netflix series “Squid Game‘ broke all records in 2021. The figures and costumes already have a cult character.
So it’s obvious that the fans want a new season of “Squid Game” expect. The words of director and screenwriter Hwang Dong-hyuk should make your anticipation grow.
Squid Game creator promises “great games” for Season 2
The second season of “Squid Game“ is already being planned. That much is certain. However, Hwang Dong-hyuk himself can’t say exactly what the fans can expect in the sequel.
Nevertheless, he assures “Deadline.com”: “There will be more great games, that’s all I can say.” It was the brutal challenges in the Netflix production that made the first season so thrilling.
However, the screenwriter admits that he “hasn’t even started writing yet.” So it will be a long time before Season 2 starts.
Will Jung Ho-yeon Join Squid Game Season 2?
When asked if characters from the first season will be returning as well, Dong-hyuk replies, “No, because most of them are dead.” Still, it’s a reunion with viewer favorite Jung Ho-yeon, who plays Kang Sae -byeok, cannot be ruled out. “Let’s say maybe [Sae-byeok] a twin sister, we’ll see,” interjects the series creator.
Actress Jung Ho-yeon, who won a SAG Award (Screen Actors Guild Award) for Best Actress for her performance, doesn’t seem to be turning down a comeback. “I could change my hair color. Let’s do a little bit of plastic surgery,” she jokes.
