Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the Foo Fighters, dies

Through their social networks, the Foo Fighters announced this Friday the death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins in Bogotá, where the band would perform.

“His musical spirit and infectious laugh will be with us,” the band wrote in a brief statement, also expressing that their hearts go out to Taylor’s wife and children.

In the same sense, they asked that the privacy of the drummer’s family be respected while he is going through such a painful moment.

As a result of this situation, it was reported that the band will cancel its presentation at the Estereo Picnic Festival, which takes place this weekend in the city of Bogotá, Colombia.

In recent days, the drummer of the popular rock band went viral on social networks after he left the hotel where the band was staying to meet Emma, ​​a girl who came to the place with a drummer and began to play with the hope to meet their idols.

Julio Peralta, Emma’s father, wrote on his Twitter account: “My daughter, since she found out that the Foo Fighters were coming, started a campaign to get to know them. Today we took her drums to play in front of the Sheraton and look who came out at her call. Dreams come true”.

After the death of the musician was announced, Peralta wrote by the same means: “We are devastated. I don’t know how to tell this to Emma.”

According to information from the Colombian magazine Semana, forensic and judicial personnel are in the hotel where the band was staying to carry out the corresponding investigations.
