There is less and less left for the Benidorm Fest 2023 to be held, and more and more details are known about the expected contest in which it will be decided which artist represents us in the next Eurovision festival. We have already heard all the songs of the Benidorm Fest, we also know each one of the participants and we have even seen the proposals of some of them (the last one, that of Fusa Nocta)… and now we know one more fact: who will be the judge!
After all the controversy that was generated by the choice of Chanel by the professional jury last year, there was a lot of expectation to see the RTVE ad… And here we have it. The national jury will include Irene G. Valiente, a journalist for Radio 3, José Juan Santana Rodríguez, president of OGAE Spain, and Nina (who will replace Nacho Cano, who had been announced as the jury’s spokesperson a few months ago). The absence of Miryam Benedited stands out, whose vote was questioned by the public in 2022.

For its part, the international jury will be made up of Tali Eshkoli, head of the Israeli delegation, Nicola Caligiore, head of the Italian delegation to Eurovision until 2019, Katrina Leskanich, leader of the band Katrina & The Waves, Christer Björkman, television producer Swedish and William Lee Adams, founder and director of Wiwibloggs.
How will the jury vote at the Benidorm Fest?
The Benidorm Fest 2023 voting system will be the same as in the first edition: 50% of the votes will be in the hands of the professional jury and the other 50% will be decided by the public. The popular vote will be divided equally between the televote and a demoscopic jury and in the event of a tie, the artist with the best score from the professional jury would win.
