The HBO series has revived a forgotten song by the country star. In less than 24 hours, the song became one of the most listened to on the Spotify platform.
In line with Stranger Things Where Wednesday, The Last of Us allows new generations to discover songs from the past. The success of the adaptation of the famous video game thus made jump this week the listenings of Long Long Timea 1970 song by American singer Linda Ronstadt.
The Spotify platform announced Monday night that listens to the track had increased by 4,900% in the last 24 hours in the United States after the broadcast of the third episode of The Last of Us. The piece, which lends its title to that of the episode, is used in several particularly moving key scenes.
Released in 1970, Long Long Time is one of the key titles of the disc Silk Purse. The single then remained on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three months and reached No. 25 on the charts. In 1971, Linda Ronstadt earned a Grammy Award nomination for her song.
Netflix series Stranger Things and Wednesday have recently revived several hits from the 1970s and 1980s such as Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush, Goo Goo Muck from The Cramps or Master of Puppets by Metallica.
