They ask for preventive detention against Rochy RD, accused of sexually abusing a minor

The Public Ministry deposited before a court the request for a coercive measure, in the form of preventive detention, against the urban music performer Aderly Ramírez Oviedo, popularly known as “Rochy RD”, accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old teenager .

The Unit for Attention to Gender Violence and Sexual Crimes of the Santo Domingo Prosecutor’s Office also requested preventive detention against the victim’s motherarrested for his involvement in the case.

The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of Santo Domingo Este set for 9:00 a.m. this Sunday, April 24, the knowledge of the coercive measure against the two defendants in the file.

The Public Ministry explained that both defendants They were arrested by court order in the framework of an investigation into a complaint of sexual abuse against the minor.

Through an application addressed to the Court of Permanent Attention of Santo Domingo Este, the prosecutors Julisa Hernández and María Sánchez requested the imposition of the coercion measure against Rochy RD and the woman, after obtaining different evidence about the commission of the crime.

According to the Public Ministry, the alleged rape against the young woman occurred in a villa in the eastern part of the capital.

The mother of the victim, in addition, according to the investigations of the prosecutors, committed physical and verbal aggression against the adolescent, among other crimes.

“In the course of the investigation, different testimonial, expert, procedural, documentary and audiovisual evidence have been obtained with which the prosecution body supported the request for coercion,” read part of the statement on the case of the prosecution body.

Charges against the defendants

The defendants face charges for the violation of several articles of the Dominican Penal Code, modified by Law 24-97, on Gender and Domestic Violence, and the Code for the Protection and Fundamental Rights of Children and Adolescents (136- 03), to the detriment of the minor and the Dominican State.

“The Public Ministry considers preventive detention as the most appropriate measure to impose in this case against the 29-year-old defendant, due to the seriousness of the facts and the amount of evidence obtained in the process,” said the aforementioned document.
