This completely unnoticed new Netflix series finally captivates subscribers around the world who are now eagerly awaiting a season 2

It’s a safe bet that you do not know the series A lease in hell landed on Netflix on March 1st. In English, the title is Worst roommate ever. Those of you who speak English have a better understanding of what it is: roommates. We add “bad roommates, improbable roommates that will end very badly”. Because in A lease in hellthese are real criminal cases where individuals with bad attentions have capsized the lives of several people in a nightmare without return.

Four cases are chronicled by Netflix in the mini-series A lease in hell : “Call me ‘grandmother’”, “Beware of sleeping water”, “The marathon runner” and “Undesirable roommate”. The latter is the only one divided into two parts of forty minutes. She talks about how squatter Jamison Bachman, who called himself Jed Creek, moves into Alex Miller’s house and acts like he’s home. By complaining to the police, Alex Miller will discover that the past of this squatter is very morbid.

An inevitable season 2?

In “Call me ‘grandmother’”, the viewer will discover the life of Dorothea Puente, director of a boarding house for marginalized people and the elderly. She cheated them and then ended up killing them, burying them in the garden of the boarding house. “We must beware of the sleeping water” she returns to the disappearance of the veteran of the war in Iraq Maribel Ramos who, at 36, had resumed her studies at the University of Cal State Fullerton, in California. Her roommate KC Joy is the last person to have seen her alive… Finally, in “Le marathonien”, Youssef Khater pretends to be a Palestinian-Danish athlete who comes to try to break a world record in Chile. He will end up burying alive the person who had welcomed him in a kind of youth hostel because she accused him, rightly, of owing him a lot of money.

Obviously, it’s not Netflix’s most cheerful series. But these miscellaneous facts are quite striking and have been very successful on the platform since the release ofA lease in hell, with more than 70 million hours of viewing worldwide in less than two weeks. And even if it is a mini-series, which by definition does not call for a sequel, the fact that each episode deals with a case, apart from therefore the 4 and 5 devoted to “Undesirable roommate”, nothing prevents making a season 2. There must be a lot of other roommate stories that turn into a nightmare, unfortunately…
