Twins in a partner look: First appearance after Charlène’s return to Monaco

Jacques and Gabriella missed their mom so much

The times are not easy for the two siblings. For most of the past year, the twins have had to do without their mom’s presence. Charlène traveled to South Africa in March 2021 to support the fight against rhino poaching. A short time later, she reported to local media that an oral surgery performed before her trip had delayed her return to Europe. She was not able to start her return journey until November. But just days after arriving in Monaco, she once again withdrew from public life to recover in a clinic.

Just a few days before Charlene’s return to Monaco, Royal expert had Brittany Barger tells that the absence of her mother would hit the two children very hard.

In an interview with the British newspaper express Barger spoke about the difficult separation between Prince Jaques, Princess Gabrielle and her mother Charlene: “They visited her around Christmas. We don’t know if she [Gabriella und Jacques] were able to, they [Fürstin Charlène] to visit her on her birthday or not,” the nobility expert reported. She also continued about the former swimmer: “I’m sure she wants to get well as soon as possible so she can be with them.”

Gabriella and Jacques no longer have to do without their mother. The palace said in a statement that Princess Charlene, in consultation with her doctors “given that her recovery is progressing well”, decided together with Albert to “continue her recovery now in the Principality with her husband and children”.

“As soon as her health allows, the Princess will be happy to share special moments of conviviality with the Monegasques, whom she missed so much,” the royal couple announced.
