Who can benefit ? The point here

As every year, the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) is preparing to publish the revaluations of the main allowances taking into account the rise in prices. When writing Objeko, we will talk to you more specifically about the activity bonus. You are ready to know everything about it. Well, let’s go.

Upgraded from April 1

Created in 2016, the activity bonus is a monthly income supplement paid each month by the Family Allowance Funds (CAF) or the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA). If there is a premium intended to support professional activity as well as the purchasing power of assets who receive a modest income, it is it. Well, from April 1, it will be revalued by 1.8% given the galloping inflation observed in France for several months. These new amounts will be applied as of the payments for the month of May.

Concretely, this means that the maximum lump sum for a single person will soon amount to €563.68 per month, compared to €553.71 in 2021. For a single person with a dependent child, this amount rises to €845.52. € per month and at €1014.62 for two children. You must then add an additional €225.47 per additional child. A childless couple can claim aid of up to €845.52.

What are the eligibility conditions for the CAF activity bonus?

As with every time you want help, there are conditions. Thus, to have the activity bonus, you must first be over 18 years old. But you must also live in France permanently, ie the duration of stays outside France must not exceed 3 months per calendar year. Moreover, be aware that the activity bonus is only paid for the full months of presence in France. Needless to say. Finally, employed students, trainees and apprentices over 18 can also benefit from the activity bonus.

To be entitled to the activity bonus, salaried students and apprentices must receive a minimum salary of 974.12 euros net monthly for at least three months. For employees, the minimum amount is 618.32 euros to receive it. Regarding the ceiling not to be exceeded, it will depend on your situation. 1,798 euros for a single person. 2,794 euros for a childless couple in which only one member of the family works. 3,754 euros for a couple with two children where both parents have a job. And finally, 3,342 euros for a couple with two children with a single salary.

4 out of 10 French people do not claim it

A few months ago the Department of Research, Studies, Evaluation and Statistics (DREES): approximately 39% of French people eligible for the activity bonus do not apply to the CAF or the RSA. An incredible number. So if you are in the case, do not hesitate to fill out a file and make the request to the competent authorities. It’s your turn.
