Either the same cast as the original piece. They are joined by Xavier Dolan and Julianne Côté. The Night Laurier Gaudreault Woke Upwhich is due to air this year, will have five episodes.

Expensive themes

Xavier Dolan explained that he immediately wanted to adapt the play, which explores themes that are dear to him, after seeing it in June 2019. “Beyond the obvious that imposed itself it’s up to me to write and shoot this story about life and death, about mourning, self-acceptance, family, between the idea and the realization, there were months of waiting caused by the pandemic, and which will have inspired me more than ever, excited, impatient, even, to take action, and to push my limits ever further”, commented Xavier Dolan, quoted in a press release from Canal +.

After the triumphs of Mommy and of Just the end of the world in Cannes and in cinemas, Xavier Dolan continued with two films, a big American production, My life with John F.
